Qoute of the Week
"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us."

Helen Keller

BE BRILLIANT @TELEPHONE & WEB CONFERENCING

Telephone & Web Conferencing is being used increasingly to conduct business meetings and professional communications. We have partnered with Premiere Global Services to bring you some monthly practical tips, supporting you and your business to make the most of Conferencing tools.

TIP#1 September 2005: JARGON BUSTER

AUDIO CONFERENCE – A telephone conference, available as automated or operator assisted, with full interaction for participants, or listen-only for the audience, with limited and controlled interaction through managed Q&A or feature controls.

AUTOMATED CONFERENCING
– An automated telephone or audio conference that are accessed using a telephone number, and an automatic prompt for your passcode, without constant operator assistance.

ONLINE EVENT – A term used for events held using audio and/or web conferencing technology, traditionally organised as venue based, face to face events.

WEBINAR – An online seminar, a webinar concentrates on allowing one or several individuals to deliver information to an audience, with controlled interaction, such as organised Q&A or polling. The term is used for events that have traditionally been organised and held as seminars, now being hosted using web and audio conferencing technology.

WEB CONFERENCE – During your telephone conference, visuals and/or collaborative tools are available to participants via a secure internet address. A web conference can be a collaborative and highly interactive meeting, a way to share information in real time. Or simply the presentation of a slide show during your conference call. A variety of conferencing and collaboration features are available to suit your needs.

WEBCAST – Webcasts are primarily one way forms of communication, where audio and visuals of your live event are “streamed” to remote audiences, via the internet. Participants are able to view and listen to a (lower quality/ delayed) “broadcast” of your event on the internet.
